This is the fifth week of the fall 2023 semester at Heartland Community College and Dewhitt’s class is studying police oversight. A lot of people don’t realize that some cities have police review boards. Bingham discusses with two of his students, Monay and Benjamin, that a civilian review board is generally charged with the duty of reviewing complaints and making recommendations as to disciplinary action after the police department has completed its own investigation and made a disciplinary recommendation.
